The Detroit News reported that Darren McCarty has been in discussions with the Red Wings about the possibility of returning to the team. I have mixed opinions about this depending on how he's used if he does return. I feel that, based on his play in Calgary and his off-ice financial distractions, that he doesn't have enough left to give consistently on a professional level. However, it wouldn't hurt to have an extra grinder available to use in case injuries hit the team; plus, I still have the ol' #25 jersey in the closet.
It'll be interesting to see where this story leads. Maybe Slava Fetisov will return as well.

I hope he doesn't. Too many casinos around here, and that's what got him in financial trouble.
